Daniel Salmon, 77, of East Stroudsburg passed peacefully on Saturday January 8th, 2022, with his family at his side. Son of the late Daniel and Mary Haas Salmon of South Amboy, NJ. He is survived by his loving wife of over 28 years Lynn Hanaway Salmon of East Stroudsburg, children Janet, Colleen, and Daniel Salmon of South Amboy, Beth Tompkins of Stroudsburg, James & Monica Kubinak of Breckenridge, CO, and Laura & Andrea Massaro of East Stroudsburg. Grandchildren Hailey, Brielle, Eva, and Lucy. Daniel spent four years in the US Air Force including time in Las Vegas, Greenland, and Albuquerque as a helicopter mechanic. After his time in the service, he spent 18 years with the Conrail Police Department. After leaving the police he pursued a second career in the transportation industry where he found a passion for helping others while employed with the Monroe County Transportation Authority. Dan “Chubba” loved nothing more than to spend time with his family as a coach, supporter, and fan. He also enjoyed days with his beloved dogs Sadee, Nellie, and Dixie or watching the Steelers football games. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Daniels name to a Veterans organization of your choosing or the Monroe County Special Olympics.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Lanterman and Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, PA, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with service to follow.
