Virginia Turcotte, age 87, a longtime resident of Chattanooga went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday November 7, 2011. She was born June 4, 1924 in Brockton, Massachusetts to the late Theodore and Dorothy Chase. She retired from Kingwood Pharmacy as a bookkeeper after 28 years of service. She was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church for over 55 years. She was a member of the Hamilton Place YMCA, she was a volunteer worker for more than 25 years with Contact of Chattanooga Telephone Ministries; taught Kindergarten at Lookout Mountain United Methodist Church for 5 years and taught special education at Booker T. Washington School for several years.
She was preceded in death by her identical twin sister Eleanor and sister, Charlotte.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Turcotte, of Chattanooga; son Jack Turcotte and his wife, Patricia of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Mary Clarke and her husband Jeff of Hixson, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Courtney, Hollie and Ashley; five great grandchildren, Madison, Connor, Katelyn, Alyssa and Jackson; sister Dorothy Kelly of Massachusetts.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 PM at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Dial, Rev. Randy Martin and Rev. Mark Womack officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 PM to 7 PM at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
