Jean was born on July 25, 1925 and was a graduate of Marion County High School. She was a Certified Public Accountant and was one of the first ladies to own her own firm, Jean Holland, CPA from 1969 – 2001. Jean was the past president of Tennessee Association of Accounts, and held memberships in ASWA, NSA, IMA , Zonta Club of Chattanooga and Sister Cities. She served on the Hamilton County Nursing Home Board and Multiple Sclerosis Board. Jean was a member and former Sunday School teacher at Greens Lake Road Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, T. W. “Woody” Holland; her parents, James and Lena Conner; and a brother, James L. Payne.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Debra J. Cope of Harrison, Nancy Holland Montoya and her husband Frank of Ooltewah; grandsons, Dallas Cope and Chase Cope both of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Franshaun Baca of Albuquerque, New Mexico; great grandchildren, Ali and Dylan Cope; sister, Margie Payne of Summerville, GA and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Services for Jean will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the East Chapel with Minister James Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s name to At Peace Hospice, 216 B. Newtown Road, Calhoun, GA 30701 or Greens Lake Road Church of Christ, 1209 Greens Lake Road, East Ridge, TN 37412.
