Mary Catherine (Linder) Jones

Mary was born on February 6, 1934, to the late Omar and Thelma Linder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David E. Jones, Sr.; her sweetie of 22 years, TC Beaty; her son-in-law, Johnnie Mayo; and seven brothers, Guy Linder, Omar Linder, David Linder, BJ Linder, Herbert Linder, Charles Linder, and Joe Linder.

Mary is survived by her children, Catherine Mayo, Sharon (Craig) Irby, David (Anita) Jones, Cindy (Jeanann Madden) Cole, Pamela Thomas (fiancé, Jack Webb), and bonus daughter, Jolynn (Roger) Ladd; her grandchildren, Matthew Mayo (fiancé, Julie Morgan), Phillip Mayo, Kacey (Joby) White, Jennifer Blaylock, Jessica (Brad) Langford, Chad (Kasumi) Nelson, Hannah Irby, Ashley (Tim) Hobbs, Sandy (Rusty) Gates, Crystal McCrary (fiancé, Bryan Boesing), Syndi Reed, Diana (Jeff) Parker, Maribeth (Ryan) Futral, Brighid Fulwider, Kaitlin (Josh) McWhorter, and Cassady (Noah) Adams; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary loved to go to Wal-Mart and she never met a stranger. Her favorite saying was “Help me, Jesus.” She loved to play bingo and was really good at bean bag toss (cornhole). Her favorite pastime was keeping up with Facebook. Mary cherished her family and above all, she truly loved the Lord.

A funeral service will be at 7 PM on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Chattanooga Funeral Home – East Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, September 16, at the funeral home prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM CST on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Elmwood Cemetery, 600 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., Birmingham, AL 35211.
