Jewell was born on May 28, 1930, in Pikeville, TN, to William and Alice Rothwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, George Edward Davis; her siblings, Moses Hamilton, Myra Morgan, Jimmy Rothwell, and Tommy Rothwell.
She is survived by her children, Wanda (Benny) Guinn of Bridgeport, Alabama, Linda Hatfield of Fort Oglethorpe, Melinda Penney of East Ridge, Gregory Davis of Ooltewah; her sister, Billie Houston; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the funeral home with Rev. Eddie Simmons officiating. A burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga.
