Mr. Kemp was born in Marietta, GA. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and retired as a Postal Inspector with over 30 years of service. Mr. Kemp was also a WWII Army-Air Corps veteran serving in Panama and a member of the National Association of Postal Inspectors and National Association of Federal Employees.
Surviving are his wife, Novella Kemp; sons, Mike Kemp and wife, Vicki, of Murray, KY and Donald Cross and wife, Pat, of Ringgold, GA; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Anne Chase Sewell and husband, Dan, of Savannah, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Kemp and Nelle Kemp Brooks; and former wife, Gloria Standard Kemp.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 PM on Friday, November 26th at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 3 PM at Lakewood Memory Gardens East with Rev. Ray Walker officiating.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist. 404 South Moore Road.
