He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Estes Equipment Company. After leaving, he worked for Hunter Oil Company where he was greatly admired and respected.
Edgar was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Phillips Taylor; parents, Herschel and Florine Powell Taylor, brother, William Floyd “Bobby” Taylor, sisters, Mary Nelle League, Clara Ellis, Marjorie Keyt, Thelma Briley, Ruby Martin, and Wilma Smith.
He is survived by his daughter, Vikki Taylor and son, Phillip Taylor, several beloved nieces and nephews.
Burial will be held on Friday September 4, 2020 in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South. There will be no services held at this time, but a Celebration of Edgar’s Life will be held at a future date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edgar’s memory to the Greenslake Road Church of Christ,1209 Greens Lake Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37412 .
Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412.
