Eddie Lawrence

James Edward “Eddie” Lawrence, 59, of East Ridge passed away Monday, May 26, 2014. He was born October 4, 1954 in Chattanooga to the late Willard Van and Mildred Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his sister Patti Lawrence. He was a 1972 graduate of Brainerd High School. Eddie was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, who spent his fall weekends looking for big bucks and teaching others to appreciate the outdoors. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique furniture. Eddie owned and operated Lawrence Painting for almost 40 years. He not only made satisfied customers, he created lifelong friends. Everywhere he went he was known and well liked. He truly never met a stranger. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years Janet Adams Lawrence; children Kellie (Glenn) Henderson and Kristy (Lee) Helton; brother Van Lawrence; grandchildren Lynna Helton, Lily Helton, Amanda Henderson and Alicia Henderson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 on Friday, May 30 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Hutch Garmany officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery with Tony Casteel, Terry Adams, David Foster, Clyde Whisenant, Jason Hill, Mike Moon, Jacob Adams and Pat Shackleford serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 Thursday evening and from 10-11 Friday morning.
