Charles Franklin “Chuck” Pool, 46, of Chattanooga passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. He had been employed as a Data Specialist with UNUM Insurance. He started at the age of 16 working at Olan Mills. He also worked at the Chattanooga Civil War Museum and with US101.
Chuck was a member of The Missions Church in downtown Chattanooga. He attended Ringgold High School and graduated in ‘91. Chuck graduated from Chattanooga State where he was a member of the tennis team. He was an avid tennis player and played with several area leagues. He was a sports junkie and a collector of many things, especially baseball cards.
Chuck was a good Christian man who loved his family wholeheartedly. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for anyone. Whether you knew him personally or you were a person stranded on the road, he would help anyone with his huge heart. He was an amazing Husband, Father, Son, and Brother.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Dorothy Slaughter, and his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Francis Pool.
Left behind to cherish Charley’s life (as he was affectionately referred to as, by his wife) are, wife, Eilie Pool; parents, Frank and Debby Pool; daughter, Megan Pool, step-daughters, Meghan Grant and Gabrielle Dickens, sister, Jaime (Derek) Tournear; nieces and nephews, Savannah, Dakota, and Weston, and many special friends.
A Celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Friday October 11, 2019. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Chuck’s memory to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen, 727 E. 11th St, Chattanooga, TN 37401.
Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412.
