Lorraine Davis, 85 of East Peoria, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2108 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born November 14, 1932 in Peoria, to George and Myrtle (Goulden) Schrader. She married her grade school sweetheart, who first proposed in the second grade, Arthur Davis on May 1, 1949 in East Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Arthur Davis Jr.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 70 years, Arthur Sr. of East Peoria; one daughter, Susan Carpentier also of East Peoria; three grandchildren, Jason, Jody and Justin; two step-grandchildren, Jody and Matt; four great-grandchildren; three sister, twin sister Loretta (Norman) Perkins, Virginia (Gary) Schoonert and Darlene (John) Peebles; daughter-in-law, Darlene Davis and several nieces and nephews.
Lorraine worked as a cook for many years at Lincoln grade school in East Peoria. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved cats. She was a avid oil Painter, seamstress and was known for her "Awesome" Fudge. Lorraine taught ceramics in her home studio and was always willing to help others.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 5 to 7 pm at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. A funeral service will be Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service. The Rev. Wally Meyers will officiate.
