She was born May 13, 1940 in London Mills, IL to Charles and Opal (Loer) Fryer. She married Harold Peckenpaugh on December 15, 1956 in Peoria. He passed away September 20, 2014 in Canton. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and older sister Florence Peckenpaugh.
Survivors include one older sister, Mable Royer of Peoria, one son, Harold "Duane" Peckenpaugh of Washington, one daughter, Tina Clendenin of East Peoria, along with 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Doris was a Beautician in the East Peoria area for several years. She retired from Zeller Mental Hospital in Peoria IL.
Doris was an avid camper and loved to fish. She enjoyed working out in her yard, spending time with loved ones over a cup of coffee.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services at this time. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery alongside her husband at a later date. Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
