Michael James Randall

Mike was born on February 15, 1966 in a village in South Korea. Adopted by Harold and Doris Randall, he grew up in Flint, MI. Mike attended Ferris State University where he continued playing tuba in their marching band and met the love of his life, Sherry Randall. He graduated from Ferris in 1987. Mike and Sherry were married at the MSU Alumni Chapel in 1989 and started their lives together in Arizona before moving back to Michigan in 1997. They raised their family in Howell, MI and recently moved to East Lansing.

Mike will be forever missed by all of his family and friends including his wife Sherry Randall, his daughters Breanne Harvey (Skip Harvey) and Britney Reason (Kellen Reason) and his grandchildren Lincoln, Watson, and Jude Harvey, and Taliah Reason, his mother-in-law, Nancy Haeck and many brothers and sisters, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mike was proceeded in death by Harold Randall (father), Doris Randall (mom) and Cathy Randall (step-mom).

Mike’s love for his family was unconditional, always proud of Sherry and the girls. He loved spending time with his family and embraced his role as grandpa, building lego structures, playing Hot Wheels, fishing, and reading books with accents to Lincoln, Watson, and Jude as well as sharing his life story with Taliah. Mike was always the entertainer. Whether on stage in local theater productions or singing karaoke (with or without an audience), he loved to make people laugh, even through his last few days. He enjoyed cooking one of a kind recipes, eating spicy food, waxing his car, and finding the next “real good deal”. He touched the lives of so many people.

A visitation for Mike will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11:00 AM at MSU Alumni Chapel, 636 Auditorium Rd, East Lansing, MI 48824. Parking for the Alumni Chapel is available at Lot #9 for the visitation and service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for a donation to be made in Mike’s name to the American Liver Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
