Leanora Ann Embert

She has one daughter, Robin (Jeff) and is survived by 2 grandchildren; Allyson (Will), Austin and step granddaughter Jessica (John).

She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents, granddaughter Courtney and grandson Ryan.

Leanora, also known as Lea, was born in 1938 and was raised in Terryville, Connecticut. She has/had one sister Donna. After marrying Paul, she was active in the Officer’s Wives Club with the USAF. She enjoyed teaching craft classes to fellow wives including cross- stitching, decoupage and hand painting metal flowers.

She shared her love of antiques with Paul and was co-owner of Main Street Antiques in Williamston, Michigan. She was active within the Meridian Township Voting Precinct and was very diligent with her duties there.

After Paul passed, Lea worked as a sales associate in men’s clothing and fragrances at Hudson’s, which later became Marshall Field’s/ Macy’s at Meridian Mall in Okemos. She retired from Macy’s and spent her time reading and shopping.

Visitation and Funeral Mass will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday June 6 with visitation starting at 10:00am. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery, 2500 Mt Hope Rd, Okemos, MI 48864 immediately following Mass.
