Larry married his high school sweetheart, Judy, in May of 1962. They were blessed to spend 62 loving years together. He was a devoted family man who was exceptionally proud of his three children. As his family grew he enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He found so much joy in spending time surrounded by his entire family and his beloved dogs, Sam and Bo.
Larry was a quick witted man with an engaging sense of humor. If you had the pleasure of being around him you knew he was going to make you laugh one way or another. From telling jokes or just simply saying whatever came to his mind. He never passed up the opportunity to answer his phone as “Leapin Larry” or give you a “zerburt” whenever you came in for a hug.
He was a talented musician and a founding member of his band, The Critters. A popular band that performed locally in the seventies. Outside of his band he enjoyed playing his guitar for his children and grandchildren whenever he had the chance. When he retired from his time of performing, he found love in gardening and landscaping. He achieved the designation as a Certified Master Gardener.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Aleene King, siblings, Virgina, Pauline, and Charles, and his grandson, Noah. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy King, brother, Gerald (Gayle) King, his children Mitchell Paul (Irma) King, Jennifer Lee (Frank) Mena, Stacy Ann (Travis) Estes, grandchildren Antonio, Ryan, Jordan, and Morgan.
