Kelly Ann Bourne

Kelly Ann Bourne, born Kelly Ann Montgomery in Lansing, Michigan to parents Ken and Marilyn (Richards) Montgomery. Kelly was a devoted daughter, wife and mother to her family. She is survived by her parents; husband, Chris, of eight years; children, Aiden, Teegan and Ella; brother, Kyle (Nicole) Montgomery; sisters, Danielle and JoAnna Montgomery; father and mother-in-law, Luke and Diana Bourne; sister-in-law, Allison (Shannon) Arnett and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Also, beloved pet dog, Sophie.

Kelly graduated from DeWitt High School, Class of 2004. She was a member of the volleyball team and played youth soccer. She was also an accomplished, competitive figure skater. Kelly earned her Bachelor of Science (2010) and Master of Science (2012) degrees from Michigan State University in Kinesiology. She was a member of the Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society. She earned many academic awards at MSU and was a speaker at her commencement ceremony. She was also a past president and graduate advisor of the Phi Epsilon Kappa Kinesiology Club Fraternity, and coordinated several Relay for Life fundraisers. She went on to work for the College of Nursing at MSU as a Research Administrator specializing in child development. Go Green!

Kelly loved her family dearly and was happiest when friends and family visited. She was passionate about nutrition, as well as organic foods and products. Kelly was an advocate for kids in foster care and also cared about her environment, encouraging everyone to recycle.

Kelly had a positive outlook on life and never complained or let her cancer diagnosis define her life over a nearly 20 year battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

A Celebration of Life Gathering is planned February 8th, 2020 at Hawk Hollow Golf Course, 15101 Chandler Rd., Bath Twp., MI from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, East Chapel, East Lansing.
