Went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 23, 2017 at age 84. She was born November 27, 1932 to Carl E. and Daisy Bell Lawson in Boston, MA. JoAnn attended Boston University and studied psychology, English and art history. In 1953 JoAnn met her future husband, John Williams, and they were married eighteen months later. John and JoAnn then moved to Haslett, MI where they started their family. She was a homemaker and childcare provider; loved art, sewing and all crafts. For over 30 years the family loved spending summers at Indian Mound Beach, Buzzards Bay in Cape Cod, MA. Later years they traveled with friends to the eastern and central states as well as Canada.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, John (July 18, 2017). Surviving are her children; SuAnn (Keith) Pendell, Deborah Koester and John (Dawn) Williams; grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa (Cory), Michael (Carrie), Matthew, Quentin, Danielle, Adriana, Adrian, Malachi, Makayla, and Max Pendell, Kayla Koester, Shelbie, MacKenzie, Jayden, Rylee, and Christian Williams; great-grandchildren, Abby, Anna, Noah, and Judah Pendell, Briana, Chase and Kylie Pendell; great-great grandchildren, Aiden Williams and Zendaya Natalie Lopez. She is also survived by her sister, Deborah (Warren) Chase and children, Timothy and Bethany Chase.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017, 11:00 a.m., Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, with visitation one hour prior.
