On October 18, 2016, Frank Schultz completed his earthly mission as a loving husband to his bride of sixty-six years, Bernice (Eppler) Schultz; and father to five good kids: Brant (Jean) Schultz, Brenda (Steve) Frantz, Terri (Michael) Shapiro, Jan (David) Trierweiler and Jeff (Loralee) Schultz, as well as his Ten amazing grandchildren and two great grandchildren; Matthew, Lucas, Brian, Casey, Emily, Jesse, Kevin, Sam, Jacob, Aaron, Taylor and Mya.
Frank was born and raised in Lansing Michigan, where he attended Eastern High School. Frank was captain of the tennis team. He declined a tennis scholarship to Michigan State College (University), when he joined the United States Army Air Corp. and served as an airplane mechanic during WWII. He loved to recount stories of “patching em’ up and sending em’ out”. He also loved to tell how he lost his stripes more often than most guys earned them. Frank carried on his staunch military spirit into his carrier as a manager alongside his army buddy Bud Stowe at Auto-Air Industries, from which he retired in 1980.
At his retirement, Frank and Bernice moved to their dream home on Derby Lake in Stanton Michigan. His greatest joy was to make this a gathering place, full of love and laughter for family and friends. Frank will long be missed and never forgotten. His attitude and spirit will live on in all he touched.
Graveside services will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing. Visitation 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing. For those desiring, contributions may be made in memory of Frank to the charity of one’s choice.
