She is survived by her husband of 68 years Edward Peter Crino, her sons and spouses, Peter Benjamin Crino (Jeanne Covert) and William Oliver Crino (Kahla Crino, nee Kelchak), and 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Crino, Steven Crino, Elizabeth Crino, Benjamin Crino, Lily Crino, Caroline Covert, Jack Covert, Eva Arvizu, and Daniel Arvizu.
Esther Lenore Humphrey was born May 20, 1933 in Buffalo NY to Howard and Gertrude Humphrey. She was the last survivor of 3 children including her brother Howard Humphrey and her sister Marjorie Letizia (nee Humphrey) who predeceased her. She attended high school in Buffalo and then received her Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and teaching certification at Hunter College, NY. She was the loving wife of Edward Peter Crino, married in Silver Creek, NY on July 16, 1955. They moved to Scarsdale, NY and then resided in Ardsley, NY in Westchester County. She taught in the Ardsley public schools K-6 grades for more than 20 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved the theater, opera, and art, and her grandchildren. She and her husband Peter visited much of Europe, Canada, and Western United States. Esther was a talented and avid pianist having taught piano students and performed with her husband Pete, a professional trumpeter on Broadway, for many years.
Esther will remembered for her energy, her warmth, her love, and her smile.
A private ceremony will be held.
