Dorothy Lepczyk was born on October 13, 1915, the daughter of Patrick and Loretta O’Connell, and passed away on December 2, 2015. Dorothy was a graduate of Siena Heights College. She was a founding member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and St. Veronica Guild. She volunteered at St. Lawrence Hospital and at Catholic Social Services. She was an avid bridge player and gardener. Dorothy was very proud of her Irish heritage but nothing made her happier than being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother to the family that she cherished. She extended her family and love to include her neighbors. She took pleasure in all of life’s moments and found the little things to be the most extraordinary; birds, nature, a child’s laughter. She was an inspiration to many on how to age gracefully. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William; and son, William Francis. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters; Anne (Robert) Pentland, and Marybeth Lepczyk; sons, James (Michelene) Lepczyk and Timothy (Susan) Lepczyk; and her grandchildren Matthew Pentland, Kathryn Pentland, Emily Pentland and James Pentland; Timothy (Ashley) Lepczyk, Bradley (Erika) Lepczyk, Laura Lepczyk, Mark Lepczyk, and Andrew Lepczyk; William Lepczyk, Martha Lepczyk and Caroline Lepczyk; great grandchildren, Matthew and William Pentland, Theresa and James Lepczyk and Anastasia Pentland. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 7, 2015 at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00pm on Sunday, December 6th at the church with a rosary at 7pm and also one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. For those desiring, contributions may be made in memory of Dorothy to the St. Thomas Aquinas School Scholarship Fund, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing, MI, 48823 or to Lansing Catholic High School, 501 North Marshall St., Lansing, MI 48912.
