She preceded him in death by only two months. He was born in Manzanillo, Cuba on December 5, 1923 the son of Jose and Sarah Regal. The middle son of four children whose family originated in Spain, he returned there to meet and marry Trinidad in July of 1948. They returned to Cuba to start their life and family.
Alfredo was a businessman, owning and operating a mercantile and farm. In 1968, at the age 44, he immigrated the family to Lansing, Michigan where they began a new life and lived the American
Dream. Alfredo took great joy in his work, home, and family. In 1991, after 30 yrs of service, he retired
from General Motors-Fisher Body Plant. Following retirement, he enjoyed gardening, carpentry, grandchildren and family celebrations. Abo, as he was lovingly known, stressed hard work and education. He took special pride in all of his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. A devoted Catholic, he was a long time member of the Church of the Resurrection. He will be remembered for his strength of character, his love of life and devotion to family.
Alfredo is survived by his children; Alfredo(Miviam)Regal, Trinidad (Luis Felix)Fernandez, Teresita(Boyd) Parker and Clara (David Pawsat)Regal; grandchildren, Miviam Regal, Marisel(Jorge)Hadad, Felix(Christina)Fernandez, Carlos(Stacy)Fernandez, Christopher Pawsat and Natalie Pawsat; 9 great grandchildren.
A Roman Catholic Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at St Thomas Aquinas Church located at 955 Alton Rd, East Lansing. Visitation will be held from 10-11am at the church with the rosary recited immediately prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions in Alfredo’s honor to be sent to the Church of the Resurrection, 1505 E Michigan Ave, Lansing 48912.
