Yvon Belanger

Yvon Belanger, 91, a longtime resident of East Hartford, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021. After a short bout of pneumonia. Yvon was born in Edmunston, New Brunswick, Canada on February 26, 1930. He married the love of his life Marie May Lagasse of Madawaska ME on July 4th, 1949. They settled in East Hartford CT where they lived happily until her passing in 2011.

Yvon worked for Ouellette and Devons in West Hartford for most of his life as a carpenter. He utilized his carpentry skills spending his free time fixing up the inside and outside of his home and was always available to help friends and family with carpentry projects.

Yvon was dedicated to his family and was always there to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed quality time ice fishing and golfing with his son and grandsons. Yvon and Marie traveled to Canada twice a year to visit with family and friends. They enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing on their visits. Yvon always looked forward to springtime, where he could pick Fiddlehead greens to his heart’s content.

Yvon’s family would like to thank Glastonbury Health Care Center for their excellent care over the past year.

Yvon leaves behind his son, Armand and his wife Beverly of Newington; his grandsons, Donald and his wife Lisa of Sturbridge MA, John and his wife Kelly of Windsor; former granddaughter in-law, Hanna Belanger of Simsbury; his great grandchildren, Jacob (18) & Tyler (15), Kaitlyn (22) & Michael (15); Kelly’s children, Ryan Micali and his finance Hayley Morris, Tori Graham and Julia Graham; great great-grandson Eli Micali (3); his sister in-law, Gloria Martin and her husband Romeo of Bristol; his brother in-law, John Legasse and his wife Jean of Willington. Yvon was predeceased by his three sisters, Rita, Anne and Yolande and his three brothers Roger, Doris and “Bebe”.

Yvon will be buried with his wife Marie in Silver Lane Cemetery in East Hartford, CT at the convenience of the family.
