Stanley Hawrylik, 87, beloved husband of Anna M. Hawrylik, and longtime resident of East Hartford, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Saturday, June 9, 2012. He was born November 4, 1924 in New Britain son of the late John and Agata Hawrylik. Stanley proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Stanley graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1949, he was employed by Pet Milk Co. and Morris Alper & Sons. He started his own successful business in 1967; General Maintenance Supply Co.
Stanley is survived by his children; son Stephen Hawrylik and his wife Susan of Windsor, daughter Carolann Brisee and her husband Gregory of Glastonbury. Stanley will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren; Stephen, Jonathan and Kathryn Hawrylik, and Kristen and Douglas Brisee, his sister Jean Kowalski, sister-in-law Yole Cotta, and several nieces and nephews.
Only two months ago, Stanley was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Anna, whom he missed dearly.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his wife Anna and for his integrity, generosity and selflessness.
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, June 12th from 4-7PM at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Stanley’s funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 13th at 9AM, with his Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10a.m. in St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church, 1 Community St., East Hartford. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
