Robert C. Fearon, Jr, 89 years old, of Hebron, passed away on July 26, 2021 in Moodus. Robert was born in Greenfield, MA to Robert and Gladys (Parker) on January 12, 1932. He attended school in Colebrook, NH in a one room schoolhouse where his mother was the teacher. Robert was a Navy veteran serving on the USS Briareus. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He achieved the rank of ME2. Robert married Phyllis (Elliott) Fearon on June 11, 1955 in Whitefield, NH. Robert graduated from Keene State and earned a Masters Degree in Education from UCONN. Robert worked as an Industrial Arts teacher for the Town of Glastonbury for 25 years. When he retired, he pursued his love of woodworking with the purchase of Kissmen Woodworking Co. in Marlborough. Robert later sold the business, opened ACE Hardware in Marlborough and then relocated the store to East Hampton. Robert and Phyllis were avid travelers. They explored the United States by RV with multiple trips to Alaska. Cruise ships were another grand adventure they both enjoyed as they explored Europe and the Caribbean. Name a ship and he has probably been on it.
Robert is survived by his wife of 66 years Phyllis, his daughter Catherine Antonellis and husband Paul, Robert C Fearon III and his wife Kathleen (Zimmermann) Fearon, and daughter Susan Berube and long time partner Ken Gann. He leaves nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, including Richard Dufour who Robert referred to as his little brother. In addition his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his son, Gregory Fearon brothers Russell, Ralph, and Fred, his sisters Mary Dufour and Esther Placey.
