Born in Worcester, MA on March 31, 1941, a son of the late Paul S. and Cecelia (Gemme) Krantz, Sr., he had been a resident of Glastonbury for the past 48 years. An intelligent young man, Paul was a graduate of Worcester Academy and Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. A devout catholic, Paul was a communicant of St. Dunstan’s Church in Glastonbury. Paul was a passionate sailor his entire life. In his youth, he captained a 41 foot ketch, the “Rosa II”, out of City Island, NY. His retirement years were spent at the helm of his custom sloop “Yvaledon” sailing the Eastern Seaboard in the most extreme conditions available. He loved to share his knowledge of boats and the sea. To that end, he authored a catalogue of his adventures titled “Riding the Wild Ocean”. A how to manual for the serious sailor. Paul enjoyed working outside maintaining his yard and building model boats. He was also a fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Most of all, Paul was a proud family man who cherished his time spent with his family.
