Mary E. (DelRocco) Tamiso, 90, of East Hartford, loving wife of over 65 years of the late Stephen A. Tamiso, peacefully entered into eternal life with her caring family near her on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Hartford on October 8, 1932, a daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Micalone) DelRocco, she had been a resident of East Hartford since 1958. Mary was a graduate of Bulkeley High School in Hartford, Class of 1950. Prior to her retirement, Mary was employed by Propane Gas in South Windsor for many years as an accounts payable executive. A devout catholic, Mary was a long-time faithful communicant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford where she volunteered many years as a Counter. She was an avid golfer and cherished her several trips with her best friend Steve to Scottsdale, AZ, Myrtle Beach, SC, and area casinos. Mary was a member of the Wednesday 9-Hole Women’s Golf League at East Hartford Golf Course and the St. Christopher Church Retiree’s Club. She also was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees and New England Patriots. Most of all, Mary will be remembered as a kind hearted woman who was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and for saying “I was here…now I am not”.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Denise M. Mayo and her husband Robert Jr. of East Hartford, Lynn A. Klock and her husband Jared of Avon; a son, Mark S. Tamiso of California; five special grandchildren, Lieutenant Colonel Cheryl Mead and her husband Joshua of Windsor, Stephanie Mayo of East Hartford, Jason Tamiso and his wife Elsa of California, Brian Klock of Los Angeles, CA, Shannon Klock of East Hampton, and five adored great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Delores “Lori” Cichowitz of East Hartford, Janice Pelletier and her husband Gil of Enfield; a brother-in-law, Robert Tamiso and his wife Elaine of New York, NY; a sister-in-law, Beth “Genoa” Caldwell of Seattle, WA; a daughter-in-law, Rita Racine and her husband Jon of Enfield and her children, Jennifer and Eddie; her precious cat, Ruby; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Besides her beloved husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by three sisters, Lucille Lyman of Winsted, Patricia Trombley of Westerly, RI, and Phyllis Morris of Boca Raton, FL.
Funeral service will be Saturday (November 19, 2022) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Christopher Church of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. There are no calling hours. The family asks that everyone please go directly to the church on Saturday morning.
