Georgianne Pelletier, 84, of East Hartford, peacefully entered into eternal life to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at her home with her caring family by her side. Born in St. Leonard, province of New Brunswick, Canada on April 14, 1940, a daughter of the late Alphe and Marie Jeanne (Dube) Pelletier, she had been a resident of East Hartford since 1951. Georgianne was a graduate of East Hartford High School, class of 1958.
Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was employed for 34 years by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford in the Engineering Drafting department. A devout catholic, Georgianne was a long time active communicant of St. Mary’s Church in East Hartford. She volunteered for many committees including cleaning and decorating the altar and sanctuary, the Food Bank, the Strawberry Festival for over 20 years, the parish council, and the Ladies Club. She was also a daily communicant at the daily mass for many years after her retirement. A lover of animals, she would often feed stray animals in her yard. She also loved gardening and was an avid reader.
Georgianne is survived by her beloved sister, Gisele J. Pelletier of East Hartford with whom she made her home; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by four sisters, Murielle Pelletier and Aurore Gauvin both of East Hartford, Solange Ganges of Tucson, AZ, Yolande Doucette McKnight of Coventry; and a niece, Kathleen Giuliano of Florida. Giorgianne’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation, gratitude, and thanks to her caregivers, Anita Morrison and Christina Abraham for their wonderful care, service, love, and compassion given to Georgianne and her entire family.
Funeral service will be Saturday (July 27, 2024) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 am at St. Mary’s Church of North American Martyrs Parish, corner of Main Street/Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, (Section G), East Hartford. A calling hour will be on Saturday morning from 10 - 11 am at St. Mary’s Church, East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Georgianne’s name may be made to North American Martyrs Parish, 15 Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford, CT 06108. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
