Francis E. Church Sr.

Francis E. Church, Sr., 89, formerly of East Hartford, loving husband of 69 years of Stanislawa (Kowzun) Church, passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Kimberly Hall Complete Care in Windsor. Born in Connersville, Indiana on March 7, 1935, a son of the late Lawrence and Eleanor “Glenora” (Jackson) Church, he had been a resident of East Hartford for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, Francis was employed for over 35 years as a machinist at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks. Francis was an avid fisherman who loved spending time at Red Cedar Lake in Lebanon, CT. Francis was also an avid loyal fan of the Hartford Whalers. He was known as a quiet man who enjoyed being at his home. He was also a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather.

Along with his beloved wife, Francis is survived by a daughter, Julia C. Kozikis and her husband Paul of Vernon and Hobe Sound, FL; a son, Francis E. Church, Jr. and his wife Linda of Willington; four adored grandchildren, Scottie Church and his wife Mandy of Vernon, Patrick Scribner of Holden, Maine, Bryan Church of Willington, Timothy Scribner of Essex Junction, Vermont; and two adored great-grandchildren, Scottie Jr. and Sophie Church of Vernon. Besides his parents, Francis was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Trinks of East Hartford.

Private funeral service and burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
