Florence E. (Arnold) Dihlmann, 77, passed away at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Hartford on July 9, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Russell H. Sr. and Wilhemina (Kowalsky) Arnold.
Florence, as all called her Flo, enjoyed working at JC Penny Outlet for many years prior to retirement. She loved to knit, crochet, sew, and do puzzles. Florence was a caring person and was always there to help someone.
Florence is survived by her loving sister Shirley Arnold Tomany and her loving neice Kimberly A. Tomany who she loved so much. She also leaves behind her nephew Russell H. Arnold III, great-nephew Dominic Petrello, and step-son John Dihlmann Jr. Florence is predeceased by her husband John Dilhmann, sister Mildred A. Petrello, brother Russell H. Arnold Jr., and nephew Dominic Petrello Jr.
Florence’s family would like to express their gratitude to Hartford Hospital and Salmon Brook Nursing Home. And a special thanks to cousins Ellen and Rich. Also to Ruth Stanford, Leona Smith, and to all her friends at Knox Lane, Glastonbury where she lived. Also to Mary Paul and family for showing her love and support. Florence’s family thanks everyone as they go through this difficult time. Flo will be missed forever.
A funeral service for Florence will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 11 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 10 – 11 am. Burial will follow at Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Florence’s name may be made to Protectors of Animals, 144 Main St Unit O, East Hartford, CT 06118.
