Christopher John Shea, J.D., 50, of East Hartford, unexpectedly entered into peaceful rest on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his home. Born in Hartford on September 3, 1970, a son of Dolores (Neumeyer) Shea of East Hartford and the late Daniel J. Shea, he had resided in East Hartford for most of his life. Christopher was a graduate of East Catholic High School in Manchester, class of 1988, Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY, class of 1992, and the University at Buffalo, School of Law, in Buffalo, NY, class of 1995 where he earned his Juris Doctorate. Prior to having his own law firm for the past several years, Christopher was a former assistant clerk with the Hartford Judicial District, an attorney for Citigroup in New York, NY, and a former partner with the Law Offices of Thompson, O’Connor, and Shea in Meriden. Christopher was an active member of LCL-CT, Incorporated and a volunteer with the Connecticut Community Addiction Recovery. He was an avid reader of many books, and was a sports enthusiast who was a loyal fan of the Buffalo Bills and Boston Red Sox.
In addition to his beloved mother Dolores of East Hartford, Christopher is survived by a brother, David T. Shea and his wife Joan of Dedham, MA; a niece, Annmarie Shea and a nephew, Gavin Shea both of Dedham, MA; two uncles, John Shea of Newington, Bernard Shea of Avon; one aunt, Elizabeth Neumeyer of Locust Valley, NY; a godson, Christopher Lynch of Oradell, NJ; and several cousins and friends.
Due to the current health pandemic, private funeral service and burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Hartford will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
