Brian M. Breen, 57, of East Hartford, beloved husband for 23 years of Rachel (Hollins) Breen, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Born in Hartford on May 27, 1965, he was the loving son of Lorraine (Adinolfi) Breen and the late Joseph William Breen. Brian was a self-employed plumber but was a jack-of-all trades; plumber, electrician, mechanic, HVAC, etc. He enjoyed fishing, camping, a good BBQ, and believed himself to be West Indian as he was known for his West Indian rice and curry chicken. He loved music from Tupac to Toby Keith to House of Pain. Proud of his Irish heritage, Brian looked forward to attending the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade every year. Brian was overly affectionate, always giving bear hugs and a tight shoulder squeeze. He was the life of the party and lit up any room he walked into with his big, playful energy. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Brian always said I love you…multiple times a day. Most importantly, he was a family man that wanted to be called daddy and not dad. He was known as “B” but his beloved titles were: husband, father, son, brother and friend.
In addition to his wife and mother, Brian will be forever missed by his adored children, Alana, Alisa, Alexa, Brianna, Michael, Devin, Ashley and Jordan; his cherished grandchildren, Cora, Cillian and Matthew; two sisters, Pamela Barnett and husband Donald and Doreen Barnett and husband Peter, as well as many extended family members. He is also survived by countless friends, including his two best friends, Kelly Percy and Terence Alexander. Brian will be most remembered for his favorite quote, “I am here for a good time, but not for a long time”.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 12 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Justin-St. Michael Parish, 230 Blue Hills Avenue, Hartford. Burial will be private. Donations in Brian’s memory may be made to: 360 Federal Credit Union (put Brian Breen in memo line), 421 Talcottville Rd., Vernon, CT 06066.
