William Claude Groves

W.C. was born in Cumberland County on December 9, 1951 the son of the late Agnes Groves Jones. He is preceded in death by his wife, Natalie Sue Groves and his grandparents, Claudie Groves and Frances Brewington Groves.

Mr. Groves was the Commissioner of Indian Affairs and worked as the Executor of Indian affairs and was the chairman of the Coharie Tribe Association for over 20 years.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Burnette, Rev. Jerry Groves and Mr. Greg Jacobs officiating.

He is survived by, a son: William Vernon Groves of Leland, NC.

A Daughter: Misty Groves Jacobs & (husband) Emanuel Graham of Riegelwood, NC

2 Grandchildren: Aqualla Jacobs & Cheyanne Jacobs

Sister: Delores Gill of Fayetteville, NC and a brother: Danny Ray Jones of Charlotte, NC

Special Friend and Brother-in-Christ: Greg Jacobs

2 Special Nephews: Dabian S. Groves & Farrell Howard, and Many more Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 16, 2018 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn, NC. One hour prior to the service.
