Mrs. Mary Schofield Davis, age 82, of Dunn formerly of Smyrna, Delaware passed away peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2023.

Mrs. Davis was born June 18,1940 in Wilmington, Delaware the daughter of the late John Edward Schofield and Sabina Adulphus Clarke and is preceded in death by husband, Raymond M. Davis, Sr. She is also preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Joseph, Francis Xavier (Zeke) Schofield and sisters, Alice Monagle, Patricia Bennett and Helen Bogart.

Mary retired from the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and being with her family and friends. She was always up for an adventure especially if it included chocolate or ice cream in the end. Most of all, she enjoyed being “Mema” to her granddaughters.

She is survived by her sons: Raymond M, Davis, Jr. & (wife) Frances of Montgomery Village, Maryland and William F. Davis & (wife) Carol of Dunn, North Carolina and granddaughters: Jennifer L. Davis of Wahpeton, ND and Rebecca M. Davis of Dunn, NC & (Fiancé) Jonathan Hornick also of Dunn, NC,

She is also survived by brothers James Schofield and Paul Schofield both of Wilmington, Delaware and Sister-in-Law: Peyton Schofield of Wilmington, Delaware.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, April 14,2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna, Delaware for her family and friends there.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to Alzheimers Association – Eastern North Carolina Chapter, 5171 Glenwood Avenue, Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27612. .
