Mr. Leonard Barefoot Jr. of 2915 North Spring Branch Road, departed this life on July 8th, 2019 at his home with his family by his side; he was 68 years of age. He was born on August 31, 1950, to the union of the late Leonard Barefoot and Sadie Deans Barefoot. In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by the following members of his family: Two brothers: J.W Barefoot and Willie Glenn Barefoot; A sister: Teresa Gay Barefoot; Stepbrother: Robbie Beecham; and a grandson: Jackson Glenn Barefoot.
Leonard Barefoot Jr. was the emblem of a good man. He was a handworker; one who had always provided for those he cared for; and he had an open heart for those who would ask him for help. He lived a full life; he lived a life filled with memories and good times with his family and friends that will be cherished for the rest of their lives. He always welcomed the company of others as he loved people and he didn't meet a stranger. He could make a friend out of anyone. His loving wife, children and grandchildren were the axis upon which his world turned, as he had loved them with all of his heart. He had enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, trips to the mountains and all of the adventures he embarked upon with his dear wife and family. He was known for being a grill master and cooking a good hog; he loved having all of his family over for cookouts where they would enjoy a good meal and each other. He will be surely missed by all who knew him.
Left behind to cherish the memory of a life well lived are: Devoted wife of 23 years: Mrs. Deborah Barefoot; Two sons: Jody Glenn Barefoot, John Ashley Barefoot and Wife Aseneth; One daughter: Amber Elizabeth Sills; A brother: James Corbett Barefoot and wife Kris; Three sisters: Patricia Barefoot, Ruby Young and husband Matt, and Donna Barefoot; Grandchildren: Daylan Barefoot, Aseneth B. Garner, Cage Garner, Ridge Barefoot and Aubree Veliky. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
You are cordially invited to a time of visitation with the family of Leonard Barefoot Jr. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home and at other times at the family home at 2915 North Spring Branch Road.
A funeral service to commemorate the life of Leonard Barefoot Jr. will be conducted on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Howard officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Blackmon Grove Church Cemetery with: John Lucas, Jason Barefoot, Nate Barefoot, Jessie Tyndall, Keith Wrench and Landon Honeycutt serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Robert Stewart, Raymond "Nooky" Howard, Roy Monds and Danny Hadcock.
