Jessie Lee Thompson

Mr. Thompson was born on October 4, 1953 in Georgetown, SC, to the late George Johnson Thompson and Ethel Galliher Thompson.

Jessie was a U.S. Army Veteran receiving numerous medals and accommodations for his service to his country.

Jessie loved nature, fishing and anything outdoors. His career with the North Carolina Forestry Service was evident of that. Jessie had a great passion of motorcycles and cars.

A sister, Marilyn Miles and a brother, George “Pedro” Thompson also preceded his in death.

Jessie is survived by his loving wife Diane of 34 years: also, a son Jason Thompson and wife Carol, of Linden, NC: a daughter Shannon Lee Thompson, of Copperas Cove, TX: a stepdaughter Brittan Leigh Phillips, of Fayetteville, NC. He was one of seven siblings, survived by four, Gloria Jean Pender, and husband Alan, of Garden City, SC, Lula Collins and Ron, of Georgetown, SC, Clydie Anne Thompson, of Georgetown, SC, and Tina Marie Avant, of Georgetown, SC: three grandchildren, Caleb Lynn Morton, of Fort Carson, CO, Shelby Nicole Thompson, of Linden, NC, and Christopher Ryan Thompson, of Linden, NC.

The family will have a celebration of life service at their residence in the future with the rendering of military honors.
