Mrs. Betty L Hair

Mrs. Hair was born on April 20, 1944 in Harnett County, NC to the late Harvey Odell Gregory and Mavis Victoria Hall Gregory.

Mrs. Hair had a kind soul, putting the needs of family and friends before her own.

A godly woman sharing her testimony with everyone she met. Devotional time faithfully reading her bible sharing the gospel with her family every evening at 9 p.m. Wherever needed she would pray with those asking, or one’s she knew needed it. She loved the outdoors. Praying with those at their campsite in the mountains witnessing was her true ministry.

She was a charter member of Sansom Community Church teaching the senior adult class for over 18 years. Extremely active and always dedicated to her church.

Betty Lou, loved birds feeding those that called her home their home. Gardening, flowers, or just working was another passion.

Family was very important to her. She had a voice like an angel. Family gatherings brought everyone’s musical talents together, singing and playing numerous instruments. Betty Lou considered their talents were a gift from God and shared.

Three siblings Lois Jean Norris, Connie Sue Bass, and James Henry “Tommy” Gregory also preceded her in death.

Her loving husband Willie of over 57 years survives Betty Lou: two sons also survive her, Michael Hair, and wife Carolyn “Pepper”, of Erwin, NC, and Sherrill Hair, of Erwin, NC. She was one of seven siblings, survived by three, Linda Baucom, of Erwin, NC, Sharon Gregory Turner, and husband Earl, of Erwin, NC, Gary Gregory, and wife Betty Ann, of Erwin, NC. Her grandchildren also survive her, Jacob Lee Hair, of Erwin, NC, Kristen Koerner, of Eastover, NC, Dylan Koerner, and wife Kelsey, of Lillington, NC; great-grandchildren, Presley Koerner, of Lillington, NC, Rylee Clemons, of Eastover, NC, and Cameron Todd, of Eastover, NC.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.

A celebration of life homecoming will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerome Pope officiating.

Burial will immediately follow at Erwin Memorial Cemetery.
