Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sheila, sons Paul (Kim) and Todd (Kristy). Ted was a proud Opa to Drew, Kyle, Mattigan and Daniel. He is survived by his sister Ellen and brother John and predeceased by his parents Joseph and Gerda and brother Richard.
Ted immigrated to Canada at a young age with his family, settling in Hamilton, where they became lifelong members of Erskine Presbyterian Church. He was very active at Erskine throughout his life in choir, church elder, property committee and social clubs. Ted was also involved in Scouting, serving as Akela for the 7th Dundas troop and coached soccer in Dundas.
Ted was employed at Otis Elevator for over 37 years and engaged in many of the social activities available making many lifelong friendships throughout his career there. Upon retirement, he was able to focus on his many talents and hobbies. Drawing and water colour painting, photography, gardening, woodworking and singing in the Canadian Orpheus Male Choir, which included traveling to Europe on several occasions.
Visitation will take place at Marlatt Funeral Home, Swackhamer chapel, 195 King Street West, Dundas, on Friday December 27th, 2024 from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held at Erskine Presbyterian Church on Saturday December 28 at 11:30am. A private Interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens on Monday December 30th.
