Margo Singer

Passed away peacefully at Shalom Village in Hamilton on April 19th in her 96th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Alex in 1998. Loving mother to her son Robert and her daughter in law Arlie. Grandma to Adam (Katie), Lauren and Drew and great grandma to Zoe and Sasha. Born in Budapest and orphaned at a young age, Margo was a very independent, capable and charming woman. After fleeing Europe in 1951, she and Alex set up their life in Hamilton with help from their friends, Arthur and Greta Weisz. She opened Margo Lingerie in Hamilton in 1964, which she ran until 2003. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Luan Bell, who was her dear companion since 2003, as well as the competent and caring staff at Shalom Village, especially Veronica Orozco. A Funeral Service will be held at the Marlatt Funeral Home “Swackhamer Chapel”, 195 King Street West on Friday, April 21st at 11am. Interment to follow at Temple Anshe Sholom Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the Family Home on Saturday, April 22 at 7-9pm and Sunday, April 23 from 2-4 & 7-9pm, with services at 7:30pm both days. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margo’s memory to Shalom Village or Temple Anshe Sholom would be appreciated by the family.
