The family of Philip Lindsay Rooke sadly announce his peaceful passing on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Hospice House in Duncan. Phil was born on January 12, 1952 in Winnipeg, Manitoba he was the youngest of four children.
His children Rebecca, Daryck and Mackenzie were his entire world. Phil was so very proud of his cherished family and was delighted by the many joys they brought into his life.
Maple Bay, Sailing and Phil's very close circle of friends also held a very special place in his heart (you know who you are!) and he is so grateful for the love, laughter and the wonderful times shared together.
In his 45+ years as a realtor in the Cowichan Valley, Phil truly loved helping his many clients with their real estate needs and, as well, very much enjoyed the camaraderie shared with many colleagues over the years. He easily mentored others, was widely respected, and his no pressure tactics created this special care followed up with a sprinkling of economic wisdom. He achieved top ten for many of those years and was not only successful but was known for his kind and patient demeanor and others chose him because of this honorable trait.
Predeceased by his parents George, Joyce and step-mother Kay Lucas. Phil is survived by his children Rebecca (Andre), Daryck (Christy), Mackenzie (Zoe) and grandchildren; Molly, Charlie, Nora, Braxson, Colten, and Lainey, as well as his siblings Susan, Robert, David (Wendy), special nieces Holly and Jessica; and the mother of his children Carrie.
A Celebration of Phil’s life will be on Sunday Dec 1st, 2024 at Maple Bay Rowing Club from 2 - 6pm
