Born Jan 03-1942 in Dominion City, Manitoba, Marvin passed away quietly in Duncan on Oct 15-2024. Marvin’s loving wife Shirley predeceased him and he is survived by his son Roy (Ingrid).
Marvin is leaving behind a community of people that loved him, cherished his stories, support, kindness and willingness to help. He made many cedar chairs and sold them at the Duncan Farmers Market. Marvin was an avid sports man who coached, played hockey and baseball in Victoria and Cowichan. One of his greatest pleasures was hunting and fishing with his son Roy when he was younger. Marvin was planning his next moose-hunting trip the day he got back from Vanderhoof every year; he loved it that much. He spent the last years of his life fishing and hunting with his cherished friends, Trevor, Alex, Jenny and brother Bradley in Tahsis BC. He spent many years wander the hills above Duncan with his friends and Trevor Anderson. Marvin was part of a local men’s poker group and was always so excited when he was the winner, especially if he bluffed his way to the big pot. I pray now he sits beside a lake fishing with his friends and family who have gone before. You are missed.
There will be a Memorial Tea at the Cowichan Seniors Hall on Nov. 30, 2024 from 2:30-5:30.
