Robert Joseph Leonard

Robert was born and raised in Brainerd. On July 21, 1945 he married the love of his life Marie Kelley. Together they raised their 8 children in Proctor.

He was a WWII Army Veteran and he survived being a prisoner of war in the German Camps. He was released when the war ended.

Robert enjoyed spending time outside on the deck observing all of God’s creation. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph; son-in-law, Mike; granddaughter, Dina; brothers, Frank and Kenneth; and sisters, Violet and Elaine.

Robert will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Marie; children, Ruthann Carlson of Proctor, Robi Staudinger of Castle Rock, WA, Sue Leonard of Esko, Bill Leonard of Thief River Falls, Trudy (Jeff) Gilbert of Hermantown Dan (Deborah) Leonard of Proctor, and Peggy (Rusty Hanson) Brumble of Esko; 20 grandchildren ; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Marvel Paxson of California.

Visitation: 11:00 until the 12:00 noon Memorial Service Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Proctor.
