She was born May 16, 1914, in Superior, WI, to Harris and Julia(Bird)Ulsrud. Jane was the eldest of 9 children. She graduated from Superior East High School in 1931.
Jane married Robert F. Bennett in December, 1939.
After the death of her husband in 1955, Jane worked secretarial jobs for the Duluth School System, St Louis County Schools and the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Jane was a church pianist and organist for over 40 years, first playing The piano for the Harvey Webb Methodist Church, and then the organ for the Riverview Methodist Church, as well as being Riverview’s church secretary. She was currently a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Jane had a rich and fulfilling life, which she attributed to her strong faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, sisters Ruth and Winnefred, and brother Charles.
Jane is survived by her children, Robert/Tom(Barbara)Bennett of Duluth, Carol(James)Cafmeyer of Crystal Lake, Illinois and Clark F.(Patricia)Bennett of Duluth; grandchildren, Colleen(Lou)Smet and Jay Cafmeyer, Brian(Lindsey) Bennett, John (fiance’e Megan)Bennett, Stephen (Laura) Bennett, and three great grandchildren Megan, Justin and Aaron Smet; her sisters Lorna Nelson of Proctor, Carol(Jack) Vaughen of Palo Verdes Estates, California, Virginia Talafous of Hastings, Minnesota, her brothers Harry Ulsrud of Rye, Texas and Glen Ulsrud of Longview, Texas
She is also survived by her sister-in-law Agnes Ulsrud of Duluth, and many nieces and nephews.
Jane’s family would like to thank the staff and management at Spirit Valley Assisted Living for the wonderful care given to Jane the past few years. They would also like to thank Essentia Hospice for the special care she received the last few months.

Visitation from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday at the Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N 56th Ave. W. and from 11:30 until the 12:30 funeral service Thursday at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Ave.
Burial will be at Oneota cemetery.
