Helen was born in Cleveland, TN on February 20, 1920 to William and Bessie (Payne) Webb. While in her first year at college, World War II began, and Helen applied for service in the American Red Cross. She was assigned to a U.S. Air base in Dibrigar, India, where she spent many months, during which time she met her first husband, James H. Danzl. She remained an Army wife and lived in many places in the U.S. and Europe for 20 years, ending in Duluth and Proctor. It is here that she met her present husband, Burton Wagner. After the war Helen worked at Pioneer Bank and did clerical work at Hallet Dock Company. She was a member of Forbes Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Maj. James H. Danzl, and one brother, Carl.
Helen is survived: by her husband, Burton, four children; Diane (Dewayne) Bloem of Eden Prairie, Lynda (David) Silverman of Andover, MN, James H. (Tami) Danzl of Manhattan, IL, John W. (Joni) Danzl of Independence, MN, four step-children; Louis J. (Judy) Wagner of Omaha, NE, Sam Wagner of New York City, NY, Mary (Robert) Johnson-Wagner of Lake Geneva, WI, and LaVerne (Mari) Wagner of Duluth; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Bell Brothers Funeral Home on Monday at 11 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.bellbrothersfuneralhome.com.
