Carl Robert Anderson, 79, left this life on August 3, 2014 from his home in Canyon. He was born on January 30, 1935 to Sigvart and Mimmie (Bergvall) Anderson and lived his entire life at Lake Nichols.
He graduated from Cotton High School, served in the US Army and US Army Reserve. He was a member of Local Union 49, worked for the US Air Force Civil Service from 1966 to 1984, and retired a second time from Voyagers Disposal in 2000. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, outstanding mechanic as well as a handyman extraordinaire.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Alfred and Elmer, his sisters Emma, Signe, Margaret, Irene and Nancy, and his stepson Clifton Hanson.
Carl is survived by his wife Elfreda; step children Joyleen Vicki (Scott) Schneider of Proctor, MN, Craig (Kristen) Hanson of Maple Lake, MN, Jocelyn Mary (Ken) Currier Avon, IN., Jean Rindahl of Sacramento, CA; 4 grandsons, 4 granddaughters; 5 great-granddaughters, 1 great grandson; brother, Martin(Louise) Anderson, sister Ruthie Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
We sincerely appreciate the outstanding care given by all staff and volunteers of the Twin Ports VA Medical Center and the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. Thank you to Essentia Health, Duluth, the East Range Hospice Team, the Esther Circle of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and all who have helped in so many ways over the last few years.
Visitation Thurs, Aug 7, 5-7 p.m. at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 North 56th Ave W, Duluth, MN. Services will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Canyon, Friday, Aug 8th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00. (Additional parking is available across Hwy 53 at Northland Hall).
