Audrey was born in Duluth on March 8, 1929 to Ben and Louise Brunberg. She was a 1947 graduate of Duluth Denfeld. Audrey met her loving husband, Roy Anderson, while employed with the DM&IR Railway as a switchboard operator. They were happily married for 57 years.
Audrey loved spending time at their cabin on Prairie Lake. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, playing her piano, attending musical performances and spending time with friends and family.
Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She never missed an opportunity to attend her grandchildren’s school or sporting events. She was especially proud of her grandchildren’s successful accomplishments after their college graduations.
Audrey was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church until recently joining New Life Lutheran Church. Her faith was an important part of who she was.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; and sister, Ruth Dubla.
Audrey is survived by her daughters, Mary (Henry) Harper and Claudia (Jeffery) Engelmeier; grandchildren, Zachary and Jessica Harper, Melissa (Nicholas) Plante, and Matthew (Kate) Engelmeier; sister, Alice Ann (Ronald) Ebinger; and many nieces; nephews; and other extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank Pastor David Norland and Vicar Dan Tabor for their comfort and support, as well as the staff at Lighthouse of Cloquet for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Audrey during her final months. Also, thank you to the staff of Essentia St. Mary’s Hospice.
A private family service will be held per Audrey’s wishes.
