Tim was born in Canton, Ohio on May 3, 1979. Several years later, he and his family relocated to Worthington, Ohio, where he was raised. Tim spent much of his childhood playing with the neighborhood kids, catching bass and crawfish in the Olentangy River behind Mackenzie's, and riding countless roller coasters at Kings Island. He also travelled a fair bit; there were road trips to visit family in Pennsylvania and Florida, Caribbean cruises where he'd go to great lengths to look old enough to sneak into the casino, and international trips where he was introduced to different cultures.
Tim was a 1997 graduate of Worthington Kilbourne High School. While there, he played lacrosse. When he wasn't busy with school and sports, you could find him exploring ways to make money, or hanging out with friends around a bonfire in the cornfield behind his house.
After high school, Tim received his Bachelors degree from The Ohio State University. To say he was a die-hard Buckeye fan would be an understatement; he lived and breathed scarlet and gray. If you ever watched an OSU football game with him, you know! Tim's love of sports didn't stop with the Buckeyes. He also loved the Bengals, the Reds, the Columbus Blue Jackets, and more. He enjoyed watching sports, betting on sports, and collecting sports memorabilia.
Tim pursued a few different career paths before finding his home at Dayton Power and Light. He held various roles in the company, most recently serving as Project Manager.
There was never a dull moment with Tim. He was adventurous, unpredictable, and thrived on excitement. He never shied away from an opportunity to share his opinion and was always up for a good debate. Tim was competitive. He loved to play games and loved it even more when he won, especially if there was money on the line. He had a great sense of humor and the best, most unforgettable laugh.
Tim loved and cherished his family, especially his two nieces. He was loyal, supportive, and dedicated to those closest to him. He was a friend, a cousin, a nephew, a son, a brother, and the best Uncle Timmy his nieces could ask for.
Tim's thirst for travel continued in his adult life and took him many places around the world. In January 2024, he made his first trip to Thailand. Within 4 short months, he made 2 additional trips before deciding to leave Ohio to begin his next chapter there. Unfortunately, his chapter was cut short.
Tim is preceded in death by his mother, Maryann 'Karen' Darling, and survived by his father, Dennis Lantzy, sister, Denise (Justin) Holiga, and nieces, Stella, and Lucy Holiga.
Visitation for Tim will be Friday, December 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Dr. Dublin, Ohio 43017 where a funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 28. Interment to follow at Jerome Township Cemetery.
