Scott Mitchell Longnecker

Scott Mitchell Longnecker, age 41, passed away on November 11, 2024, at Kobacker House, surrounded by love and warmth. Scott was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Kevin (Nancy) Longnecker and Tammy (Jerry) Michel on July 10, 1983.

After graduating Briggs High School in 2001, Scott went on to lead a long, successful, and devoted career in finance. He was employed by the Huntington National Bank as the Vice President of Regional Banking and had just celebrated his 20 year anniversary shortly before his passing. He loved his work and enjoyed and excelled in the human connection.

In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by his two best accomplishments, his sons Ethan and Eli, and Wife Sara; Cherished Grandmother Anita (Brooks) Longnecker, Stepfather Chuck (Lisa) Miller; Brothers Matt (Oriana) Miller and Chad Miller; Stepsisters Allison (Brandon) Mendenhall and Kathleen Igoe; Beloved Cousin Andy (Kathy) Thompson, devoted uncle Mark (Laurie) Ogburn; his Fierce Protector and Aunt Lori Doughty. Best friends Rob and Lindsay Haley; Lifelong Best Friend Cindi Edwards; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and a family of friends Scott made along the way.

He is preceded in death by his Grandfather Brooks Longnecker and Grandmother Cindy Ogburn.

When Scott wasn’t crunching the numbers at work, he’d often be found cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, Buckeyes, Reds or spending time with his two children. His boys were his pride and joy, and Scott always made sure they knew it. Scott’s entire family meant everything to him, and he never missed an opportunity to show his love and appreciation for them.

Scott wanted to do good in the world and invites you to be kind to one another and do something nice for someone.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Scotty's name to the CRC The Colon Cancer Foundation, LIF Lindy Infante foundation to provide financial assistance through Youth Sports Scholarships to provide youth in need to play sports or a local youth sports organization.

A public visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service, at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017.

A celebration of life to follow from 3:30PM-7:00PM at Eupouria Bar and Patio 1568 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43201.
