I was very sorry to find out of Pete's November passing. I was his assistant for four years back in the late 90's at McCloy/New England Securities.

Pete was fun to work with and a character of the first order, as anyone who's ever met him knows. Though I always felt there was some incongruity in Pete's choice of profession, given his outsized personality.

A ringmaster of Cirque d' Soleil, a drive-time sports DJ on talk radio or a colorful zoo director in the manner of Jack Hanna, but certainly not a staid money adviser!

Of course he was very good at his job; he had the smarts and really knew his stuff. He was patient and helpful with the agents, and would probably have won the vote for McCloy homecoming king, given his popularity.

As Pete's favorite food was well known by all, I intend to have a BLT (though with fakin' bacon, making allowances for my vegetarian ways) in his honor.

My sympathies to Diane, and Pete's daughters, parents, siblings, and many friends. I know his sudden passing is a great loss and must be very painful. Though I hadn't kept in contact with Pete these past 20 years (except for the occasional Facebook birthday shout-out) he was definitely one of a kind and an unforgettable person.

Pete and I was in AZ for a meeting, and I rented a Mustang convertible 5.0.  Pete road shotgun with Diane in the back. I seldom speed, but Pete pushed for me to go faster and faster.  With the top down Diane received a new hairdo! Classic!  All three of us were laughing pretty hard........Diane was a good sport about our daring race adventure.

Pete was an active member of the Salmon Creek Trout Club. We always enjoyed his presence at the annual trout camp in the Alleghanies. It was an absolute honor to have known Pete. His wisdom, friendliness, and comraderie will surely be missed by all of us.

I met Pete back in May of 1993. A good friend of mine, Mike Menning, knew I had just completed a short training week with AIM Investments and had just become the wholesaler for Ohio. Mike told me the best investment person he knew in the industry was Pete Fuhlbrigge, who was the Investment Specialist at McCloy Financial, and we needed to go to lunch.

I set up a lunch at Bravos on Bethel with Mike and Pete and we hit it off immediately. Pete arranged for a wholesaler meeting with all of his agents at the McCloy offices and it was memorable. Since I was so new, I invited my boss from Houston to join us and in the middle of his presentation the power went off. We were left in McCloy’s windowless meeting room in total darkness. After a minute or so of nervous laughter, I remembered I had a small flashlight in my briefcase, and we finished the meeting with me shining a light on the white board.

After the meeting I contacted a friend who was in the promotional products business and I had about 50 miniature flashlights printed with the AIM name and logo and sent them to all the reps who were in the meeting.

Pete Fuhlbrigge was a shining light in the financial world. In my career at AIM and then Invesco, there was no one I called on that knew more about investing than Pete. He was the only person I ever met who could watch two TV’s, work on a computer with 5 screens and read the Wall Street Journal all at the same time. And retain it all.

He was a great friend and I’m gonna miss him for sure. Hopefully he’s up there right now negotiating on buying a race car team. I’m sure he’s already got a new boat and a motorhome!


Pete, I can still hear your infectious laugh despite the fact that it's been 24 years since we worked down the hall from each other at McCloy.  You helped many of us learn the securities business, and for that we're eternally grateful. 

Rest in peace, my friend. You're greatly missed by all those who called you family or friend.

I did not know Pete very well but the Pete I knew was definitely one of the “good guys” and always a class act.  He and I both represented a Boston based securities firm.  Once a year (sometimes more) we would attend a national meeting in Boston and, if nothing else, catch up on who had been doing what for the last twelve months.  Given that Pete was domiciled in Columbus, Ohio and I in Pasadena, California, that once a year meeting was about all I got to see of him.  I was fortunate to have known him.  He will be sorely missed

Pete has been such a big part of our lives for so many years including serving as best man in our wedding.  He was one of a kind.  We have made so many amazing memories together with  friends and your family—kids, pets, weddings, vacations, anniversaries, birthdays, racing, the lake, and too many parties and gatherings to count. We are shocked and devastated to hear about Pete’s passing. We will miss everything about him….from his financial statistics to his appetite for bacon to his brilliant holiday attire. He will always remain in our thoughts and keep us smiling! Sending prayers and hugs for family. 

Pete always made me laugh!  I could be up or down, and he always made it personal, as a true friend would.  Next thing I would know we were laughing, and everything seemed much brighter.  I have known Pete for a long time, both as a friend and as a investment partner.  I ALWAYS trusted him to take care of me as family.  The world will a little less fun without Pete, but God will be gaining a great soul.  He is out of pain now, rest in peace.  Love you.

Pete liked to drive fast, but the crazy thing he  did was to place the golf cart in neutral to take off the governor.  The height from the tee to fairway was like ski slope.  A serious free fall in the North GA mountains. I approximate hitting speeds in excess of 40 mph. He just laughed and smiled.  I was shook up, and did survive, but did carry my bag for the rest of the round.  Pete was smiling all the way!

Very sad to learn of Pete's passing.  We met at the McCloy agency, and had some great times together while I was still in Columbus. Although we haven't seen each other much since I moved to Massachusetts I will always have fond memories of Pete.  It's been many years since we fished together; however, I have great stories to remember of trips to Scott's camp, New York and Canada.

Diane - Judy and I are so saddened by the passing of Pete Fuhlbrigge, a friend of many and an acquaintance to even more. With his fast wit, intelligence, humor, and work professionalism, Pete made it easy to know him. We will miss him dearly.

Our deep sympathy to the family. Pete was an incredible Rotarian and gave so much to his community through his work with the Dublin A.M. Rotary Club. He was a member of the club’s Board for the last several years, and his many years of chairing the annual Polar Bear Golf Open committee resulted in special recognition to Pete last year. The event netted over $100,000 for charities over the past 10 years. We kidded Pete that he was the Polar Bear Open Chairman For Life. He will be sorely missed by many. 

Pete was unquestionably one of the few whose loyalty, charity, intelligence and wit all combined to make one of God's greatest.  I will greatly miss his emails and texts!  Will also miss his phone call announcing just"Fuhlbrigge." 

I am so sorry and shocked  to hear of Pete’s passing. We had just talked on the phone Thursday.  He has been my financial advisor for many years. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I wish I had the right words to express my sympathies.  When I think of Pete I remember the best smile ever.  I remember his gregarious laugh.  I remember how much fun he was.  I remember his jerk chicken.  I remember his Halloween costumes and above all how he loved his family and friends.  I will never forget how happy and proud he looked walking Alaina down the aisle on her wedding day.I will miss you Pete and oh so many others will too.
