Judith Annette Long, 83, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 10, 1941. Judy graduated in 1959 from Washington Township High School. While continuing her education at Miami Jacobs College in Dayton, Ohio, she met the love of her life Paul Bostick Long, Jr. They were married April 15, 1961.
Judy and Paul moved to Sidney, Ohio, where they raised their three sons. In 1978, they moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where Judy studied Fine Arts at The University of Kentucky. In 1986, they moved to Dublin, Ohio, where she continued at The Ohio State University, becoming accomplished in ceramics, oil painting, and watercolor. She continued to paint throughout the rest of her life, creating beautiful seasonal landscapes that are treasured by her family. Judy’s eye for art and design was apparent in her house and flower gardens. Judy was an avid reader, she particularly enjoyed historical fiction and nonfiction.
Judy loved her family and hosting for holidays. Her family Christmas celebrations were looked forward to every year, with intricate decorations and delicious homemade food and desserts. Judy created many recipes that will be passed down for generations to come. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She faced Parkinson’s with a steady determination, delaying its progression for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, parents, Wilbur and Margaretta Ginger, and her grandsons Devin and Erik Long. Judy is survived by her children, Jeff (Polly), James (Mindy), John (Gayle); grandchildren, Polly, Elizabeth (Kelsie Emory-Long), Emily (Matt Warner), Lexie, Kristin, and Caroline; step-grandchildren, Parker (Hana) Lawrence and Tanner Lawrence; step-great-grandchildren Leighton and Beckham Lawrence; her brothers, John and David (Cindy) Ginger and sister-in-law Patricia (David) Corbiserro; many special family and friends.
A small family gathering will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 5475 Brand Road, Dublin, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at www.capitalcityhospice.com. Family has entrusted Schoedinger Dublin with arrangements.
