Dinesh Garg, of Dublin, Ohio, suddenly passed away on January 7th, 2023. He was born and raised in New Delhi, India. Growing up across the street from a medical clinic, he often spent time working along side the staff and was inspired by the medical profession. In 1970, at age 19, he came to the United States to further pursue his education.
He studied and worked at several medical institutions in Pennsylvania, Texas, and New York. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. from the State University of New York in Brooklyn and Stony Brook, respectively. His work primarily focused on developing innovative procedures using stem cells extracted from umbilical cord blood to treat neurological disorders, particularly Parkinson’s disease.
He was predeceased by his parents, Kailash and Murari Garg; his elder sister, Shashi Kansal; and elder brother, Vijay Garg. He is survived by his elder sister Manju Singhal of Ghaziabad, India; younger brother Naresh Garg of Long Valley, New Jersey; three nieces and two nephews. Services were private.
