Teresa Knight Roper

Mrs. Teresa Knight Roper, age 65, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020. She was born in Covington, Georgia on April 8, 1955. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked tirelessly to help provide for her family and taught Sunday school for many years at West Metro Church of God, where she was a long-time member. She really enjoyed being able to spend time with, share joy and love with children. Mrs. Roper worked at South Paulding High School in the cafeteria and was due to retire next year. She loved to garden and her favorite flowers were roses. She loved cats, dogs, and other animals and enjoyed a good western movie. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved antiques and crafts as was shown at T’s Country Store where people called her “T.”

Mrs. Roper was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Myers and Lether Mae Collins Myers and her stepbrother, Walter Myers, Jr.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Dewitt Roper; her children, Phillip Roper and Natalie (Shane) Limes; her brother, Reginald (Dennise) Knight; sisters, Felicia Perrin of Akron, OH and Debbie (Cruz) Rodriguez of McRae, GA, Peggy (Michael) Leonard of Douglasville, GA; her grandchildren, Christopher (Brittany) Roper, Mackenzie Roper, Jaden Limes, and Zion Limes; her great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Everett Roper; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loved ones, family, friends and neighbors.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from 1:00PM - 2:00PM at West Metro Church of God 3858 Kings Highway Douglasville, Georgia 30135. Services will be held at 2:00PM with Pastor Garry Tanner officiating. Please adhere to social distancing standards to help protect the family and our community.
